Jean-Grace Kifwabala wanted to spread God’s word in a subtle and positive way.
Being a Christian man, he decided to launch Truly Motivated, a local clothing brand, in November 2020.
The brand uses different designs and quotes on the clothing to spread positive messages and spark conversation everywhere it’s seen.
“Truly Motivated is not just a clothing brand, it’s a lifestyle,” Kifwabala said, noting the brand’s focus is to encourage people to figure out what motivates them, no matter what it is.
Truly Motivated donates 10 per cent of all its proceeds to ShareTheMeal, the world’s largest humanitarian agency fighting world hunger to date. It’s not all about just selling clothes, he said.
“When everything is said and done, I want people to look back and say Truly Motivated is trying to make a difference in other people’s lives. That’s why I don’t mind donating our merchandise and proceeds to others, as long as I can make their day.”
The Truly Motivated team is collaborating with Courtside Sneakers and having their first ever pop-up shop this Friday, June 4. Kifwabala hopes the event will help his brand grab the attention of new supporters and customers.
“I want my story and the brand to reach as many people as possible.”
In the near future, the team plans to sell its products in stores all over P.E.I., not just online.
“We want to take over the Island in a way that when tourists come to P.E.I., they know we have Truly Motivated, just like how they know we have Cows ice cream.”
Visit their website at trulymotivated.ca or stop by their pop-up shop June 4, 155 Queen Street, Charlottetown, from 5 to 8 p.m.
